Stuffed shrooms

April 8, 2012 by Edlyn

Happy Easter everybody!

Had a little bit of clean fun with mushrooms today and they looked liked little eggs too. I don’t really have a recipe for this but I can tell you that you should never forget your trusted friends: Garlic and cheese. The rest is just instinct.

Today at home, we will also be having biryani and raita. Yayyy! Later, I will depart for Bombay to meet my friends.

Have a happy Sunday people.

Hard knock life

November 11, 2011 by Edlyn

I’m home alone for the day until mother comes home so I thought I’d cook some lunch. Especially so since my mama confessed she woke up too late and we were going to have leftovers later on. Bummer? Not if I could help it.

Here’s the meal in it’s entirety. Jeera rice made by mother, dal, turmeric cauliflower, fried peppered potatoes with parmesan and crispy garlic, and a rechado mackeral (also by mommy). The other savoury things I added for decoration, some being leftovers. I love the look of a full plate, I say!

Play by play:

There must be a song I can dance to after eating all of this because it was amazing home-cooking.

(I sort of followed this recipe for the dal. I tried it with a pressure cooker but I have a horrible fear of them so when yellow water started bubbling out of the sides, I thought it would explode and I stopped doing it that way. A regular pot did just fine.)
